BIO
"Vykki Vox is a red-headed bombshell of atomic soul ready to explode on the international music
scene." This powerful, dynamic singer/songwriter has a "refreshing" style all her own, and brings
her "radiant personality and fun into her music." When hearing Vykki sing, one may think of Sheryl Crow
with a harder edge, while others have made reference to Tina Turner, Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin. The bands infectious grooves have been compared to the Dave Matthews Band and the Black Crowes, while others speak of the legendary Little Feat.
At Vykki's high energy live performances, people are always amazed at the "huge voice" that comes out of this "petite package". She is truly commanding in formal arenas and has earned kudos for her performances at Boston's Hatch Shell, as well as other festivals and music conferences, including Rockrgrl in Seattle, NEMO in Boston, Crossroads in Memphis and MobFest in Chicago. Vykki has shared the stage with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jonny Lang, Les Paul, Tom Hambridge, Max Creek, the Indigo Girls, Cyndi Lauper, Ronnie Earl, Susan Tedeschi and CJ Chenier among others, and has been invited back to perform at Rockfest in Atlanta, GA and in Amsterdam.
This "whole lotta groove" band (Vykki on vocals/percussion, Dave Osoff on
keyboards/vocals, Justin Kolack on bass/vocals, Greg Allison on drums/percussion, and
Erik Ringstad on guitar/vocals) has been receiving considerable AAA airplay (charting on many stations) and rave reviews nationally and internationally.
Their 3rd CD, Can You Feel
It?, "delivers a fresh, funkified potpourri of sound, showmanship and songwriting craft." "Song after song rings with a freshness and vitality that is unquestionably the Vykki Vox sound."
Vox maintains a non-stop performance schedule with her 5-6 piece band and as a duo with her guitarist/songwriting partner, Erik Ringstad, or pianist/songwriting partner, Dave Osoff, which includes organizing and hosting the Ladies Sing & Beyond Showcases all over New England. These showcases feature New England's best female (and male) performers, and the Ladies Sing television series can be seen on Boston's BNN-TV 3, as well as numerous other stations in New England. Vox has also appeared on several other television programs, as a performer, host and guest.
Tours are now being planned for the Mid-west, Europe, Canada and a return to the Memphis area. The VVB is also currently working on their 4th CD.
