The Vykki Vox Band recently celebrated their 15th Anniversary and it's the best it's ever been! This high energy, funky and soulful band includes Vykki (vocals/percussion) - Dave Osoff (keys/vocals) - Justin Kolack (bass/vocals and Rock City Guitars co-founder) - Greg Allison (drums/vocals) - Erik Ringstad (guitar/vocals) and has the pleasure of working with the amazing Gary Backstrom (Jiggle) and Anna Freitas on occasion as well. The band's 4th CD is still in the works - half done right now - so we will be taking some much deserved time from our usual non-stop gig schedule to write and record more and to explore some other endeavors as well.

One of the amazing opportunities VVB is involved with is hosting the Boston Chapter of Chick Singer Night (CSN BOSTON - a showcase series to benefit our local music in schools programs, along with featuring hot new up and coming talent.)
CSN BOSTON is about to celebrated it's 3rd Anniversary here in Boston at JOHNNY D's in Somerville. The event is continuing to grow and provide more opportunities for our up and coming performers as well as our seasoned pros.
The first show on Thursday, JUNE 10, 2004 at LIZARD LOUNGE in Cambridge, featured Joanie Pimentel of SuperHoney, Jennifer Matthews, Anita Suhanin of Shwang/Groovasaurus, Parul Vakani of Red Velvet Slide, Philosophy of Eve and hosted by the Vykki Vox Band and Jennifer Truesdale, and was a BLAST! - many thanks to all the amazing talent and supporters!
And THANKS to everyone for coming out to support these showcases - they are always alot of fun and the talent is always incredible. We are also continuing to give young performers the opportunity to work with the seasoned pros and to raise funds and awareness for our local music in schools programs.

So far, with shows featuring Funk/Soul, Blues/R&B, Boston's finest Rock Bands, Singer/Songwriters and Acoustic Artists, including our up and coming young artists, CSN is shaping up to be a Boston staple and sure to be filled with more surprises! For those not familiar with CSN yet, it is a national non-profit organization supporting arts and the community in it's 18th year. When they celebrated their 15th Anniversary in NYC, Norah Jones was among the performers. CSN already has established regular events in LA at the Knitting Factory, NYC at Bitter End and Nashville at the Bluebird, as well as Chicago, Miami, Las Vegas and Hawaii. This series is a great opportunity to showcase Boston area artists of all levels that are worthy of recognition. So keep your eyes open for future developments!***
